Helicopter mounting of 80m mast on forest site in the Jura
New Energy Scout succeeded to install an 80m wind measurement mast in difficult terrain again. This time for the Liesberg project (canton Basel Land) of EBM. For logistical reasons, the proven robust lattice mast was mounted by helicopter within 2 days. Tight spaces in the forest and steep ground on the Jura chain placed high demands on the planning, the team and the installation. The autonomous power supply had to be designed larger - as it was already neccessary at other measurement sites - since some of the sensors need to be heated in winter. Despite delays in the original schedule, the mast was put into operation on time thanks to careful preparation and good luck with the weather. EBM chose New Energy Scout as a partner for the wind measurement due to ist many years of experience with challenging locations and helicopter mounting, among others at alpine locations (Gotthard Pass, Flüelapass).
